Getting Involved

As I stated earlier there are many projects that you can get involved in as well as resources that can aid you in continuing your education on climate change. A fantastic resource that is specific to Trout, Steelhead, and Salmon in California is caltrout.org. This group is working to "protect and restore wild trout, steelhead, salmon and their waters throughout California".

This group works with various other institutions as well on the state and national level. A few of these institutions include the UC Davis Center for Watershed Sciences, Stanford Law School Environmental Law Clinic, UC Santa Barbara Southern California Steelhead Center, and University of Nevada-Reno The Aquatics Ecosystems Laboratory. If any of these institutions are near you don't be afraid to shoot them an email to see if you can get yourself involved.

If you are still looking to get involved in other projects don't worry, there are a plethora of opportunities to become involved in stopping climate change and promoting environmental well-being. Domestically, start local and look for projects around where you live. This will help your immediate environment and can lead to bigger projects. For my international audience, a great resource is Green Peace. Just select your country, find something you're passionate about and get involved!

Lastly, I hope I have provided a spark of inspiration for involvement. If nothing else, I hope you take away at least a consideration for getting involved in fighting the good fight against climate change and an appreciation for our environment. Start locally and you never know where it could take you. Thank you for taking the time to read through my blog. I appreciate your efforts and I hope you keep educating yourself on our ever-changing world and I hope you look to get yourself involved as much as possible.

  1. You might want to mention some specifics about what can be done to help.

  2. I think the title of this tab made me expect some more specific information on ways to directly help. You could avoid getting specific by potentially just changing the name of the tab to something like "further reading" or "helping resources". Overall I think you have done an awesome job really speaking to the reader throughout the blog and it really makes for a great learning experience. No joke, best written blog I have seen so far! It's not necessarily about having a ton of information, but having good information and knowing how to present it nicely, which you have clearly done!

  3. I like the informal tone you took for your blog. It is easy to read, even if at times it is wordy, but it does feel a little like a sales pitch.
Is that picture of you or just from that groups site? Overall this is a very approachable blog and a great end use of the platform.
